It's not a shindig out in the barn with a bunch of Hickabillies

We don't dance barefoot around hay bales and chicken feathers!

There is no hopping, skipping, or jumping--(that's clogging)

There are no elbow hooking--skip around in a circle--turns

Most Square dancers don't wear Overalls

It is not just for retired folks to enjoy

It is not what you learned back in P.E. class

You don't have to be a perfect dancer to participate

It is not HeeHaw with raw, screechy fiddles & jaws harp

WHAT MODERN WESTERN SQUARE DANCING IS!

Square Dancing is the American Folk Dance of Tennessee

It's an activity where husbands and wives can dance together

It is a family activity- even children can get involved

It is a great place for singles to meet up

It gets you off the couch, providing mental and physical exercise

It's better than veggin' out to television or staring at a computer

It is easy to learn, inexpensive, and fun!

Music ranges from Country, Pop & Oldies, to Gospel

It's an activity where all kinds of people can have fun together
